Firm Will Focus on Complex Business Cases in Texas and Nationally

Dallas, Texas (February 19, 2020) – Gregory Deans and Katherine Stepp, previously of Deans & Lyons LLP, have partnered to form Deans Stepp Law, a Dallas law firm focusing on litigating complex business cases. Courtney Bowline joins the firm as a partner.

“Forming Deans Stepp Law helps us further concentrate on our areas of expertise in complex business cases, including overseeing national litigation for large corporations and bet-the-company cases,” said Deans. “This added focus will help us provide the best representation for our clients, work more efficiently, and obtain the best possible outcomes.”

Deans Stepp Law will focus on commercial litigation, wrongful death, trucking liability, negligence, product liability, and banking. The firm’s attorneys represent both defendants and plaintiffs in Texas and nationwide.

Deans has nearly three decades of experience trying cases for plaintiffs and defendants in courtrooms and arbitrations in Texas and nationally. His recognitions include being named among the Best Lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine (2019), Texas Super Lawyers by Thomson Reuters (2013-2019), and Super Lawyers Rising Stars in Texas by Thomson Reuters (2006-2007). Prior to co-founding Deans & Lyons LLP in 2008, he was a partner at a large, Texas-based litigation firm. Deans earned his law degree from the University of Houston.

Stepp represents a national clientele of plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil litigation matters, including toxic tort, commercial litigation, premises liability, product liability, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, oil & gas litigation, and employment litigation. Stepp joined Deans & Lyons when it was founded in 2008. Previously, Stepp practiced at the Dallas office of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons. Stepp received Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers recognition in 2019. She earned her law degree from Southern Methodist University.

Bowline handles matters for both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of civil litigation cases in both state and federal courts. Her practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, premises, and product liability litigation. Bowline was named among Super Lawyers Rising Stars of Texas by Thomson Reuters (2014-2019). Prior to joining Deans & Lyons, LLP, she practiced at DeHay & Elliston. Bowline earned her law degree from the University of Texas.
